April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July. She began lessons on piano and guitar at seven years old. She was interested in writing songs was ignited. April Lockhart wrote her first single, Different at the age twelve years old. She spent lots of time at 14 making songs and practicing the piano. She started writing songs along with her dad at home in NY and LA within a short time. April began including other topics in her book Take My Hand to help those of her peers who struggled with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle blogger and having partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia, has built an impressive following. Her birth was without a left hand and that is part of her story, but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability in her posts on Instagram, however she does not make it the main focus of it. What's the message? There is more to us than just our physical self. Our identities are multifaceted and include a myriad of aspects. I do not want this to be the only thing that defines me. I don't wish to become a disability influencer where it's the only thing I talk about because there are many different things about me Lockhart says via video from her residence in Nashville. My daily life isn't dependent on it. I lead a normal daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. In addition, I see it a very important component of my life. Self-acceptance is a long marathon but Lockhart is an absolute inspiration in this regard. Yet, she confesses having moments when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance and wearing clothing with arms. She now wears any outfit she wishes and shares pictures on her Facebook page with pride. The key to self-love for her is that it's not an end destination. The same is true for everybody regardless of their level of insecurity. I think it's vital to surround yourself those who can identify and feel your heart.
